I wake up every morning and say, “Lord, let me glorify You today,” and then I thank God for the day. Then I start as every other person probably does with the morning rush to get ready. I do my best to have quiet time before my kids get up by reading scripture, praying and journaling to the Lord. His Word says:
17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:17 (AMP)
I did not use to journal, I had always considered myself to busy to write my thoughts down.
But journaling has helped transformed my faith life! A good friend of mine, Phil Tyler, told me I needed to journal, to write my thoughts down. He said “you’ll be amazed what God reveals to you.” I dismissed his statement, thinking ‘I am too busy to do that’ but God kept working on me! I have journaled for a number of years and it has been awesome! I have been able to tell the Lord what’s on my heart, my prayers and hopes, and record life’s events. I look back to see how prayers have been answered or how I dealt with a problem, this a great way to reflect on my life. God is always with me and journaling has helped me to see that. As I prepare for my day, my quiet time with God helps me to do His will in word and deed.
I praise God for being there with me through all things!
Help me in everything I say and do to give You thanks and bring You glory and praise. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
Have you ever journaled? If not, it’s a great thing to start today! You can buy a journal at the Dollar Store or even get a really nice one at a book store. If you’ve journaled and stopped –start again! It will be a record of your life, your opinion, your expressions, your hopes and concerns. And it is an excellent way to record how God has worked in your life, so do it!
