It’s time for the Elf on the Shelf! If you’re like me, you want your Elf doing and saying nice things. No naughty elves in this household! You can get great ideas on Pinterest and a variety of blogs! I’ve captured some of that for you! Enjoy!
Cheer-o-meter (so be good for goodness sake!).
Frugal Coupon Living’s Ashley Langston has some great ideas! Start the season off with your kiddos checking their behavior! Don’t worry if they’ve been on the naughty list, be sure and give them some ideas on how they can improve their standing with you and Santa! Track it according to the behavior chart and then reward your children’s good behavior and help them to work on the areas that they need some help!
Elf Give A Book
Amanda Pauley shares some great ideas that she uses in her kindergarten classroom! The kids were encouraged by Elfie’s good behavior! One of the things her Elfie did was to bring a book a day to her class! You can do this by wrapping 25 inexpensive Christmas (Religious and Santa ones) books and have your own Elf leave the book in a conspicuous place kids will love finding their Elf and getting to read (or be read to) with a new note and a new story every day!
Elf on the Shelf itself!
And of course, the Elf on the Shelf’s own website has a ton of ideas! Inspiration and family fun abound year round on the site! Check out the recipes, Scout ideas and much, much more! Many of their ideas are creative and low cost which moms and dads will appreciate everywhere! One idea is to have your Elf to help decorate your tree after your family has done their part. Leave a sweet note like: “I jumped off the shelf like a good little elf to HELP you decorate your tree, with an ornament or two, maybe even three!” Ask your kids the ways they can HELP, too!
These are just a few ideas to give you some inspiration and ideas on how you can create a special time each day for your Elf on the Shelf with your family! Merry Christmas!
